Driver development and training is about improving and building on existing skills the driver has. Whether it is fleet driving or learning to drive for the first time, if it was me I would be looking for the best coach or trainer I could find. Driving Instructors are graded from 1-6 by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency). Grade one is dangerous instruction, and grade six been a very high standard. The information here explains how I have become a grade 6 rated instructor .
I established the Learnmoore Driver Training in 2006 in the Shropshire borders during my training process. The Welsh-Shropshire borders offer some of the most challenging and beautiful roads in the UK.
My training and development was delivered by Nigel Dawson of Excelsior Driver Training. Nigel is one of the most highly qualified ORDIT Grade Six (Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers) instructors in the country. Nigel’s approach and attention to detail is to an exceptionally high standard. Following his input I qualified as a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in January 2007 in Shrewsbury including three tests of abilty. After qualifying I decided to move to Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
I set up and marketed my business with the aid of writing articles in the local newspaper, Uttoxeter Post and Times.
I developed Learnmoore Training Aids in conjunction with Nigel Dawson and Tim Mainwaring of Beyond Driving . The Training Aids are very popular in the Instructor market due to their simplicity and useful graphics. This process has developed my understanding of the theory of coaching and developing drivers.
Continuing my own improvement I took and passed the DIAmond Advanced Test (Driving Instructor Association). I decided to take my RoSPA (Royal Society for Prevention of Accident) test in 2009, training for this I improved my understanding of Roadcraft (Police Driving Manual). This test is the highest standard available to civilian drivers, which I passed with the highest possible mark of the Gold Award.
Looking to improve the standards of fleet and company car drivers I enrolled on the fleet training course with Excelsior Training including three tests of abilty. This was a superb course which developed my coaching skills and understanding of the key risk increasing factors for drivers who drive for work.
In September 2010, I gained the top score available to an Approved Driving Instructor, with grade six in all sections as shown below.

This proves that with effort and training it is possible to reach the highest standards. To develop your driving with the best, call or text me now on 07999 992141, or contact us through our website.
