Stafford traffic wardens help frozen motorists

As the big freeze continues in the UK, Traffic wardens in Stafford have taken it upon themselves to help motorists by offering de-icer and scraping car windows in an effort to make locals safely back on the road. Staffordshire County Council have given Traffic Wardens leaflets with tips for drivers in icy conditions.

BBC News reports that the council said “The winter can bring more problems for those with cars and it will be reassuring to know our wardens can now help in many ways.” With 17 car parks in Stafford they are going to be very busy; but this is a great way to help drivers and point out best practice for driving in wintery conditions.
Ahead of Staffords’ attempt we offer our own tips for driving in icy conditions, and suggestions for a winter emergency kit.
